Centralia College to host the fifth annual Statewide Inspirational Speech Championship

Centralia College’s Jamie Cline will compete for the title of Statewide Inspirational Speech Champion on July 27.

This year’s competition will mark the fifth year since the competition’s inception. The competition involves 34 community colleges in Washington state and centers around public speaking.

At 4 p.m. on July 27 in Centralia College’s TransAlta Commons, the top five public speakers in the state will deliver 10-minute inspirational speeches. A state champion will be crowned by 5:30 p.m.



Centralia College’s Jasmine Preslicka, of Onalaska, won last year’s state championship. Cline will be representing Centralia College this year. She is currently ranked as the No. 2 public speaker in the state.
