Centralia picked up its first home win since Feb. 15, 2021 on Friday night, ending a 23-game home losing streak with an emphatic 50-0 win over Vashon Island.

“It was awesome,” Centralia coach Tyler Gedney said. “Happy for the seniors, and glad we played four quarters of good football. Happy for my guys.”

Malcolm Tukes tallied 70 total yards and a touchdown, while Alex Ahern added 56 total yards and a touchdown of his own.

Caden Erickson scored two total touchdowns, including a 17-yard pass to Bill Volavola, and had 85 total yards, and Travis Boone and Hayden Holtgrew also found the end zone on the ground.

It is to be determined whether Centralia (2-6, 0-3 2A EvCo) will play in Week 9, as the Tigers forfeited their league match against Tumwater.
