With the City of Centralia having just turned 150 following its founding by George and Mary Jane Washington on Jan. 8, 1875, the Centralia Downtown Association (CDA) has launched Hub City Love Letters, a campaign aimed at celebrating the city’s history and residents’ cherished memories.
“As part of the Hub City Love Letters, we’re collecting 150 heartfelt stories, memories and reflections from those who love Centralia,” the CDA stated in the post. “Whether you’ve lived here your whole life, just arrived or have a special connection to our town, we invite you to share what makes Centralia special to you.”
Those interested are invited to share everything from childhood memories, local traditions, historic moments or moments that changed people’s lives, “or simply a love letter to the place we call home.”
To submit a Hub City Love Letter, mail it to the CDA at P.O. Box 391, Centralia, WA, 98531, email it to the CDA at centraliadowntownassociation@gmail.com or visit https://tinyurl.com/yc4b8ekb to submit it online.
