The Centralia baseball team suffered its fifth straight loss on Thursday, losing to River Ridge 13-8 in a non-league matchup at Fort Borst Park.
It was a game for the bats from the first inning on, as River Ridge opened the game with a run in the top of the first before tacking on eight more across the next two frames.
Centralia was able to keep it a game, scoring six runs across the second, third, and fourth, but four runs from River Ridge in the final three innings helped the Hawks maintain their lead.
Jake Johnson finished 3 for 5 with a home run to lead the Tigers offensively, while Jonah Lowe, Kadin Yeung, Shawn Holmes, and Gabe Salazar also drove in runs.
Wyatt Van der Hoeff, Jamie Conzatti, Holmes, and Salazar recorded Centralia’s four other hits.
Centralia (0-5, 0-1 2A EvCo) will look to snap its skid on Tuesday, when it heads to Chehalis to take on W.F. West.
