Centralia High School hosts first powerlifting meet at the NW Sports Hub

Centralia High School hosted its first ever powerlifting meet in the program’s second season on Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Northwest Sports Hub.

The Earned Not Given Classic included powerlifters from Centralia, Yelm, Olympia, Timberline, Elma, Shelton and Stadium high schools.

Centralia’s powerlifters excelled during the meet, with four girls placing in the top five of their respective divisions and eight boys earning top-five finishes, including two first-placers.

The following are the individual results from the Centralia powerlifting team at the Earned Not Given Classic:

Girls

Madelyn Ahern — Fifth place at 114 pounds

Dani Etter — Sixth place at 114 pounds

Sydney Styger — Second place at 123 pounds

Maddog Rothdeutsch — Third place at 148 pounds

Skyla Collins — Seventh place at 148 pounds

Madison Hardy — Fifth place at 181 pounds

Elizabeth Luna — Seventh place at 181 pounds

Boys

Josemanuel Alatorre — First place at 114 pounds

Lane Markstrom — Fifth place at 123 pounds

Payton Warren — Second place at 148 pounds



Damian Ramos — Fifth place at 148 pounds

Jared Wickert — 12th place at 148 pounds

Sergio Sanchez — 10th place at 165 pounds

Sawyer Sexsmith — 16th place at 165 pounds

Riot Verley — 20th place at 165 pounds

Tristin Henning — Second place at 181 pounds

Pablo Perrin — Ninth place at 181 pounds

Caiden Tukes — Seventh place at 198 pounds

Juan Rosas — 14th place at 198 pounds

Miguel Guillermo — 17th place at 198 pounds

Julian Crenshaw — First place at 220 pounds

Jake Johnson — Second place at 242 pounds

Seth Wonderlin — Fifth place at 242 pounds

Randy Crenshaw — Sixth place at 242 pounds

The boys team finished second overall. After this performance, Styger is ranked second in the state standings in her respective division, while Alatorre and Crenshaw are both first place in the state standings. Johnson ranks third in the state.
