The Centralia Police Department has arrested 25-year-old Elidey Ojeda Moreno for murder after the death of a male who was found with apparent stab wounds in the 300 block of East Locust Street early Wednesday morning.

Officers were dispatched to a residence at about 1:30 a.m. for a male subject who was conscious and breathing but bleeding from the stomach due to apparent stab wounds, according to a news release from the police department.

“The officers began CPR and continued to render medical aid until emergency medical services arrived,” the release states. “The victim was transported by ambulance to Providence Centralia Hospital where he was later declared deceased. A homicide investigation was immediately initiated by CPD Detectives. The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office assisted in processing the crime scene.”

Evidence led police to arrest Moreno, a Centralia resident, for murder.

An autopsy is pending. The identity of the victim will be released by the Lewis County Coroner’s Office after the autopsy has been completed and his family has been notified.

“This is an ongoing investigation and no other information is being released at this time,” the release stated.
