Two women are accused of driving under the influence following a pair of rollover crashes that occurred within a span of 15 minutes in Centralia on Saturday, according to a daily news release by the department.

Officers first responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash at about 9:40 p.m. at the intersection of South Pearl and South Pear streets. The vehicle had crashed into a trailer before rolling onto its top, according to police.

The driver, a 25-year-old Centralia woman, told officers she was on her way to the Southwest Washington Fair to pick up her sister, according to police. Officers determined she was under the influence of alcohol or drugs and booked her into the Lewis County Jail.

Just 15 minutes after that crash was reported, at 9:55 p.m., officers responded to a two-vehicle rollover collision at Johnson Road and Reynolds Avenue.

“Officers were informed that one of the involved vehicles hit a power pole and that one vehicle was on fire with possible entrapment,” according to the release. “Both occupants were able to exit the vehicle on their own.”

The driver of the vehicle that caused the crash, a 24-year-old woman from Shelton, was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital for treatment.

Officers determined she was driving under the influence and issued a criminal citation for DUI.
