Chehalis and Centralia police teamed up Sunday night to stop a suspect accused of driving four small children while intoxicated.
According to a Centralia Police Department press log, Chehalis police began pursuing the vehicle from a local business near 100 SW Interstate Ave. at about 10:30 p.m., after an employee reported that the suspect appeared intoxicated.
The employee said the suspect was driving four small children between the ages of about 18 months and 8 years.
According to police, a family member of the suspect also reported the possible DUI.
The driver continued into the Centralia area.
“A Centralia officer was able to quickly get into position and deploy spike strips, successfully deflating multiple tires on the suspect vehicle,” the press log said.
“Soon after being spiked, the driver pulled into a parking lot nearby and was taken into custody for DUI and several counts of reckless endangerment for endangering the small children in the vehicle.”
Centralia police did not name the suspect in its press log.
