The Centralia Middle School and Centralia High School choir programs have been selected to perform the national anthem at T-Mobile Park during a Seattle Mariners game this season, according to a news release from the Centralia School District.

The performance date of “The Star-Spangled Banner” has yet to be announced, the district said. The choirs submitted their auditions earlier this school year.

“We are incredibly proud of our choir students and directors for earning this opportunity,” district leadership said in the release. “Performing the national anthem at a Mariners game is a special honor and a testament to their commitment and talent. We can’t wait to see our Tigers shine on the field this spring.”

According to the release, students will either perform as one combined choir or as a single group. Their participation includes a required day-of soundcheck and special game-day experiences coordinated by the Mariners’ marketing and ballpark operations teams.

“The opportunity provides students with a memorable, real-world performance experience while showcasing the strength of Centralia’s music programs,” the district stated.

The school district indicated it will release more details about the performance date and tickets once scheduling is finalized.
