Centralia Woman Accused of Stabbing Roommate's Ear Charged With Assault

A Centralia woman was arrested and booked into the Lewis County Jail early Monday morning for allegedly stabbing her roommate in the ear. 

The alleged victim reported he “had just woken up and was getting ready to go to work” while his roommate, Diana Y. Eyle, 54, yelled at him, according to documents filed in Lewis County Superior Court on Tuesday, 

Eyle is then accused of stabbing her roommate in the right ear with a 6-inch kitchen knife. A struggle for the knife reportedly ensued, which resulted in the alleged victim gaining control of the knife. 

Lewis County Sheriff’s Office deputies who responded to the alleged victim’s 911 call reportedly located the knife, which had blood on it, on a chair. 



The deputies noted the alleged victim’s right ear was bleeding when they arrived. 

Eyle was booked into the Lewis County Jail at 5:50 a.m. on Feb. 20 and has since been charged with one count of second-degree assault, domestic violence. The charge carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison. 

Her bail was set at $100,000 on Tuesday. The court has issued a protection order for the alleged victim. 

Eyle’s arraignment hearing is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 23.
