The Centralia woman accused of pointing a short-barreled shotgun at a group of children playing soccer near her home in July will serve prison time.

Stacey R. Radcliff, 54, was sentenced on Aug. 21 to 14 months with the Department of Corrections and 18 months of community custody after making an Alford plea to one count each of second-degree assault, unlawful possession of a short-barreled shotgun, felony harassment and third-degree malicious mischief.

Alford pleas are considered guilty pleas which acknowledge the prosecution likely has enough evidence to convict the defendant. They do not, however, serve as an official admission of guilt.

In her guilty plea statement, Radcliff wrote that she had been consuming alcohol at the time and didn’t “clearly remember these events,” but had reviewed the facts provided by the state.

As part of her community custody, Radcliff is required to participate in evaluation and treatment for substance use disorder, and is prohibited from consuming alcohol.

She is also prohibited from coming within 25 feet of the Villa Los Milagros apartment complex for 10 years, and must register as a felony firearm offender.

Radcliff was arrested on July 28 after the incident. The following day, during a preliminary hearing in Lewis County Superior Court, Chief Criminal Prosecutor William Halstead said Radcliff’s behavior had been going on “a long time,” and said drinking was the likely root of the issue.

Halstead said Radcliff lived in a trailer by a large, open stretch of grass where the kids play. Defense attorney Rachael Tiller said Radcliff lived in the backyard of her family’s property.

According to a probable cause affidavit, deputies spoke to children at the scene, who said they’d been playing soccer when Radcliff exited her home with a gun. She then yelled at the children and threatened to kill them.

The children said they ran from the area out of fear. Other witnesses confirmed their reports.

According to the affidavit, Radcliff also threw a large, “painted pink” rock at a car window and a soccer goal. Though she didn’t break the window, Radcliff broke the goal, worth about $200.

The Chronicle obtained multiple reports made by law enforcement leading up to Radcliff’s July arrest. The reports indicate a series of escalating alleged behaviors.

A Lewis County 911 Communications call report notes that Radcliff was trespassed from the apartment complex on April 11, 2025. According to the report, a witness said Radcliff had been “screaming at and harassing” landscapers using a megaphone “all day.”

According to the report, a witness said Radcliff had yelled to people on the property, “Your people are all being hung, you're all ruining this country, you're illegals."

Radcliff reportedly told responding law enforcement that she was an American and said her tax dollars paid for the apartment.

According to an incident report from the Lewis County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy requested Radcliff be considered for a charge of malicious harassment in June after investigating a report that Radcliff had yelled “racial obscenities” at a woman outside the complex.

Radcliff was arrested after the June 2 incident, according to the report.

The sheriff’s office investigated another report on June 22, after a juvenile witness said Radcliff was yelling racial slurs at children playing soccer.

According to the incident report, Radcliff had allegedly threatened to call U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The witness said Radcliff had thrown a portable speaker at them.

The speaker hit a nearby vehicle, the witness alleged.

The responding deputy requested the case be reviewed by prosecutors, according to the report.
