After just missing out on the podium at the state swim meet last year, the Centralia 4x100 relay team of Suki Bringman, Lourdes Rodriguez, Chloe Hansen, and Anna Nguyen finished seventh at the 1A/2A State Meet in Federal Way on Saturday.
The team posted a combined time of 4:05.34, led by Hansen’s leg of just 58.9 seconds. Hansen also finished 10th in the 100 fly with a time of 1:05.00.
Bringman finished 18th in both the 50 free and 21st in the 500 free, while Nguyen finished 19th in the 100 individual medley and 20th in the 100 fly.
It was Bringman’s fourth and final state meet, while Nguyen and Hansen will be back for their senior seasons.
Centralia coach Chie Osawa Bringman credited Suki Bringman for battling through an illness, and she also praised Rodriguez, who Osawa Bringman said made a relay team possible after joining her junior year.
She added that both swimmers finished their careers on “a good note.”
