Centralia’s Corwin brothers reach state semifinals

Centralia’s Jacoby and Zander Corwin are guaranteed to earn a medal at state, as the pair reached the 2A State Semifinals with a pair of victories at the Nordstrom Tennis Center in Seattle.

The doubles team lost its first set of the day, but bounced back to win its first-round matchup 2-6, 6-3, 6-3. They went on to win their quarterfinal 7-6, 6-3.

A loss in their semifinal on Saturday would put them in the 3rd/6th game, while a win would put them in the state championship game.

On the singles side, W.F. West’s Jayvn Han won his first-round matchup 6-3, 6-3, but fell in the quarterfinals 4-6, 1-6.



At 1-1, he’ll need to win his first match on Saturday to earn a spot in the 4th/7th match.

Emma Hamilton is in the same boat on the girls’ side, winning 6-4, 6-4 in her first-round matchup before falling 3-6, 2-6 in the quarterfinals.

Tumwater’s Bodie Jackson went 0-2 in his two matches.
