Centralia’s Reinitz wins at Takedown and Tiaras Tournament

The Centralia girls wrestling team competed in the Takedowns and Tiaras Tournament in Orting on Saturday, and Ramona Reinitz won the 120-pound bracket.

Reinitz was dominant all day, winning all four of her matches by tech fall or fall. With her leading the way, the Tigers finished fourth as a team.

Jocelyn Navarro (105), Luna Martinez (110), and Braylee Blankenship (130) all finished as the runner-up in their respective classes, while Jayden Krogness (145) finished third and Milagros Medina Becerril (235) placed fourth.

Centralia coach Scott Phillips was pleased with the team’s performance. He noted that this season, the Tigers have 24 female wrestlers, which is a school record.



The Centralia boys team also competed in a tournament on Saturday, as the Tigers were at the White River Classic.

The boys had five placers, including Adrian Hernandez (120), who took fourth, and Dobah Denetclaw (144) finished fifth.

Dashba Denetclaw (150), Lafell Denetclaw (157), and Ronin Blair (285) all finished sixth. In the JV tournament, Andres Coronel (150) placed first.
