Theodore Even has always been on the move, and that continues to be the case in his 60s.

In 2025, Even earned USA Triathlon All-American Status in the Triathlon, Duathlon, and Aquathlon by finishing in the Top 10% Nationally in his age group (65-69).

Even finished the 2025 season as the only athlete in the country to earn All-American status in all three sports, and he is ranked in the Top 15 in all three.

Even ended the 2025 campaign as the No. 1 athlete in his age group in the Aquathlon, a two-stage race that involves both running and swimming.

He competed in three aquathlons last season, and all three of them were a part of the San Diego Triathlon Series. He finished in the top four in all three races, finishing third in a Spring Spring Aquathlon (500-meter swim and 5K run), third in the Mission Bay Sprint Aquathlon (500-meter swim and 5K run), and fourth in another Sprint Aquathlon (500-meter swim and 5.5K run).

In the Duathlon series, a race that involves biking and running, Even finished third in the country.

Even competed in five last year, winning two and finishing in the top three in all five.

He won the Olympic Duathlon (40K bike/10K run) at the Best in the West Triathlon Festival in Sweet Home, Oregon, and he also won a Sprint Duathlon (5K run, 20K bike, 5K run) at the Pacific Crest Triathlon Festival in Bend, Oregon.

He took second overall in the Lake Stevens Sprint Duathlon (1600-meter run, 10 mile bike, 5K run) in Lake Stevens, and he finished third overall in the Sprint Duathlon at the Columbia River Triathlon Festival in Vancouver and at the Bonney Lake Sprint Duathlon (1600-meter run, 20K bike, 5K Run) in Bonney Lake.

In the traditional triathlons, which include running, biking, and swimming, Even finished last year ranked 15th in the country.

Across five competitions, Even won three, took third in another, and posted a top-12 finish in the other.

He finished first at a Super Sprint Triathlon (250-meter swim, 5 mile bike, 1.5 mile run) at the Best in The West Triathlon Festival in Sweet Home, Oregon, at another Super Sprint Triathlon (400-meter swim, 13.7 mile bike, 2.8 mile run) at the Black Diamond Triathlon Festival in Enumclaw, and at the Lake Meridian Super Sprint Triathlon (400-meter swim, 16 mile bike, 5K run) in Kent.

He placed third in the Lake Sullivan Sprint Triathlon (500-meter swim, 12 mile bike, 5K run) in Metaline Falls, and he placed 12th overall at the Hagg Lake Sprint Triathlon in Gaston, Oregon.

Even said that after “accomplishing what he wanted to” in 2025, he is taking a break from racing in the 2026 season, but he did add that he is planning on and looking forward to racing again in 2027.
