The Chehalis Farmers Market’s 20th season begins at 11 a.m. on June 3 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in downtown Chehalis.
The ceremony will be followed by the opening bell, signaling the start of the day, according to a news release from the Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce.
The Chehalis Farmers Market first opened in 2005. It’s located along Boistfort and Market streets.
“This milestone is proof of the dedication of our vendors and the loyal support of our community,” Market Manager Evelyn Walnik said. “We’ve invited some of our original vendors from the first season to join us for the ribbon cutting.”
The market operates every Tuesday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. from June to October. It features local farmers, artisans, food producers and crafters, the release stated.
“Visitors can find everything from fresh produce, mushrooms, fruits and plants to eggs, baked goods, handmade soaps, candles, cosmetics, artwork, jewelry, animal fiber products, teas and hot food and beverages,” Walnik said. “There’s truly something for everyone.”
In addition to its weekly Tuesday schedule, the market is now also open on the second Saturday of each month and will participate in Chehalis Fest on July 26.
Walnik shared that the market team is exploring future additions, including a dedicated kids market, a holiday market and other special events, according to the release.
“By supporting the market, you’re supporting small, local business owners and their families,” Walnik said. “What makes our market unique is the strong representation of farms from right here in Lewis County.”
