Chehalis Flying Saucer Party Announces First Two Speakers

Posted

The first two speakers for the Chehalis Flying Saucer Party have been announced.

The first is Shanelle Schanz, the granddaughter of famous pilot Kenneth Arnold, who is returning to speak at the Flying Saucer Party.

Arnold helped make history after a UFO sighting during a fateful flight on June 24, 1947, from Chehalis to Yakima. He saw what he described as a string of nine, shiny unidentified flying objects flying past Mount Rainier toward Mount Adams at speeds Arnold estimated to be in excess of 1,200 miles per hour, faster than any known man-made aircraft at the time.

Schanz will share her grandfather’s story as well as details about the newly revised edition of Arnold’s book titled “The Coming of the Saucers,” now available on Amazon.

The second speaker announced was Jonathan Dover, a veteran law enforcement officer with a 31-year career with the Winslow, Arizona, police department, the National Parks Service, the Navajo Historic Preservation Department and the Navajo Nation Rangers.

Dover will be presenting findings from paranormal investigations conducted by himself and Stanley Milford Jr. over 11 years on Navajo Nation lands in Arizona, New Mexico and Utah. Their investigations included cases involving UFOs, Bigfoot sightings, hauntings and Navajo Skinwalkers.

“During their careers, Jonathan and Stanley were exposed to some of the most unbelievable phenomena known to man. This is a land of rugged beauty, deep legend and mystery where it seems anything can happen on any given day,” stated a July 1 Facebook post.

The Chehalis Flying Saucer Party is scheduled for Sept. 22 and 23 in downtown Chehalis and tickets are expected to go on sale soon.
