James W. Lintott Elementary School kindergarten teacher Shaden Beaber is one of 24 teachers across Western Washington chosen to receive a 2023 Teacher of the Week award from Seattle Sports 710 AM, WSECU and MyNorthwest.
Beaber was honored at a Seattle Mariners game on Aug. 27 and received a $1,000 award, $500 of which went to Lintott Elementary School as a classroom grant.
“I was nominated by one of my amazing past student’s families and I am beyond honored!” Beaber wrote in a Facebook post about the award on Aug. 27. “Can’t wait to meet all of my sweet students and their families this school year.”
In her nomination letter, Chehalis parent Mistina Wilmaser called Beaber “an exceptional educator who goes above and beyond in her commitment to nurturing young minds and instilling essential skills in her students, both academically and emotionally,” specifically highlighting Beaber’s emphasis on emotional learning as well as her “creative and innovative” teaching methods.
“The grant would not only recognize her exemplary work but also provide her with additional resources to enhance her classroom and continue making a positive impact on young lives,” Wilmaser wrote.
The full nomination letter can be read on the Chehalis PTO Facebook page.
