Chehalis man arrested after pedestrian injured in hit-and-run in Centralia

Centralia police arrested a 36-year-old man Wednesday after he allegedly hit a pedestrian with his vehicle and attempted to flee the scene on two flat tires. 

Police said the pedestrian was transported to Providence Centralia Hospital with what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, Jarrod D. Woods, of Chehalis, was booked into the Lewis County Jail at about 7:10 p.m. Wednesday, according to jail records. He faces potential charges of vehicular assault, DUI and hit-and-run.



Woods is scheduled to make a preliminary appearance in Lewis County Superior Court at 4 p.m. Thursday.

According to a news release from the Centralia Police Department, officers responded to the corner of Galvin Road and Harrison Avenue shortly after 2:15 p.m. Wednesday after witnesses reported a suspect driving erratically. The suspect had reportedly collided with property and a pedestrian.  

Police said the suspect drove away on two flat tires, until officers located and apprehended him.
