ChehalisFest, an annual summer celebration hosted by community organization Experience Chehalis, will hit the streets of the Mint City on July 29 for people of all ages.

The festival offers activities for kids and families, car fanatics and “folks of all ages” throughout the day, according to an Experience Chehalis news release.

Events will include live music, a vendor fair, and sales and events at businesses downtown.

ChehalisFest begins with a blueberry pancake breakfast at the Lewis County Historical Museum from 8 to 11 a.m. A street fair will be held near the intersection of Prindle Street and Chehalis Avenue with games, face painting, balloon art and Gemini Events’ ChehalisFest vendors selling local arts and crafts.

Experience Chehalis will also host a scavenger hunt at outdoor locations throughout the downtown area. With each location visited, participants will earn entries into a drawing for $200 in local gift cards. New this year, according to a news release, participants will also earn special discounts and giveaways at nearby businesses.

Garbe’s is sponsoring the annual ChehalisFest Car Show. Registration opens at 7 a.m. and the car show kicks off at 9 a.m. Awards will be announced at 3 p.m.

A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Boys & Girls Club of Chehalis, the Veterans Memorial Museum and Experience Chehalis.

Musicians will perform near the car show from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and will move inside Garbe’s in the afternoon. Garbe’s will host a beer garden from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Prindle Street.

Totally Pawsome and Shona’s Food Company will be hosting anniversary celebrations, according to Experience Chehalis, and the Southwest Washington Dance Center will host performances throughout the day.

“ChehalisFest is made possible through the collaborative efforts of local businesses, sponsors, and volunteers who have dedicated their time and resources to create an exceptional celebration that brings the community together,” the news release stated.
