Motorists in Chehalis are asked to slow down and drive with caution as chip seal work on several streets within the city is expected to begin on Monday, July 29, according to a news release.

Chip seal work will be carried out Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Southwest Cascade Avenue from West Main Street down to Southwest 13th Street, and streets along Southeast Fairview Avenue behind Grace Church.

Work is expected to take approximately three weeks. The work is weather dependent, meaning inclement weather may cause delays.

“The City of Chehalis has implemented the chip seal program throughout the city as a part of the street preservation program,” the release stated. “We thank you for your cooperation during these weeks and we will be moving as quickly as we can.”
