Volunteer Income Tax Assistance

April 9, 10 and 13 at the Mossyrock Grange Hall, 152 Isbell Road, Mossyrock

Free tax preparation for seniors and folks in the low income category. Bring income papers. This program will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 8, 9 and 13 and from noon to 6 p.m. on April 10.

Mineral Lake Lions Den Campground Open House

April 9 at the campground; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Tour the renovated Mineral Lake Lions Den Campground, ask questions and book a stay. Refreshments will be provided. Enter a drawing for a free, one-day boat launch pass to use during the Fishing Derby weekend, which is April 23.

Grange Bingo

April 9 at the Adna Grange, 123 Dieckman Road, Chehalis; 4 to 6 p.m.; doors open at 3 p.m.

Attendees can purchase three boards for $5 and there will be food and drinks available to purchase. Cash prizes will depend on the number of people who show up.

Ladies Luncheon

April 11 at the Church of the Nazarene meeting room, 1119 W. First St., Centralia; 12 to 1:30 p.m.

Cost is $15. All women are invited to this inspirational speech by national weightlifting champion Judy Glenney. Invite friends and make reservations. Fireside History Talks

April 13 on Zoom; 12 p.m.

Tenino historian Rich Edwards will present on his book, “How Tenino got its Name.”

Workgroup for Parents of Children With Disabilities

April 13 at the Jensen Memorial Event Center, Veterans Memorial Museum at 100 SW Veterans Way; 5:30 to 7 p.m.

This class is hosted on the second Wednesday of every month until May by Reliable Enterprises and Lewis County Public Health and Social Services. Topics include preparing for graduation and other transitions, social security, employment supports and more. Easter Extravaganza

April 16 at the Chehalis Moose Lodge, 1400 Grand Ave., Centralia; 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.



Over 30 vendors will be handing out candy-filled eggs to kids. Breakfast will be for sale until 11:30 a.m. and lunch will be sold from 12:30 p.m. until the end of the event. Meals cost $12.

The Easter Bunny will also make an appearance.

Sticklin Funeral Chapel invites families to meet the Easter Bunny and join them for an “Eggtastic Egg Hunt.” Cocoa and cookies will be served.

Enjoy a night of networking, food, beverages, fun and prizes with the Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce, hosted by Sticklin Funeral Chapel.

Lewis County Stream Team Earth Day Event

April 23 at the Borst Home Museum, 2030 Borst Ave., Centralia; 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Learn about invasive weeds and the importance of riparian trees from guest speakers. Take part in removing invasive Italian arum and replanting native species. Snacks, shovels and work gloves will be provided. Wear long sleeves and work boots. Connect with your community and give back to the environment for Earth Day. Families are welcome.

Lunch costs $7 and will include a potato, toppings, a beverage, salad and dessert. 

Gate Community Club Plant Sale

April 30 at the Historic Gate City Schoolhouse, 16925 Moon Road SW, Rochester; 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Proceeds from the plant sale will be used for improvements of the historic schoolhouse.

Lewis County AAUW is in its sixth year of providing original short films directed by and about women. For a donation of $10, films can be accessed online during a 48-hour period beginning 8 a.m. on Saturday, April 30. Proceeds support Hope Alliance and scholarships for Lewis County Women.
