Southwest Washington Mushroom Club Meeting

Nov. 1 at the WSU Extension Office, 17 SW Cascade Ave,, Chehalis; 6 p.m.

The general public is invited to the Southwest Washington Mushroom Club meeting. The topic of the meeting is identifying mushrooms and attendees are encouraged to bring mushrooms growing around their area for identification. Operation Christmas Cards For Our Troops

Nov. 1 through 23 in Centralia and Morton

Christmas Cards For Our Troops mailboxes will be present in the lobbies of Stricklin Funeral Chapel, at 1437 S. Gold St. in Centralia, and Brown Mortuary Service, at 812 Westlake Ave. in Morton. Cards will be collected until the day before Thanksgiving on Nov. 23. 

Lewis County Flood Meeting

Nov. 3 at the Jester Auto Museum, 321 Hamilton Road, Chehalis; 1 to 5 p.m.

The meeting will be hosted by the Lewis County Emergency Management Team, and is open to the public. Those with questions are encouraged to to contact the Emergency Management Team by calling 360-740-1151 or emailing dem@lewiscountywa.gov. 

Charity Bazaar

Nov. 4 and 5 at Chehalis United Methodist Church, 16 S. Market Blvd., Chehalis; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Mint City Market and “Best Bake Sale Ever” returns on Nov. 4 and 5. Attendees can shop for their holiday needs. There will be free coffees and “lots of friendly people.” All proceeds go to support the mission work of Methodist Women’s Fellowship, including the Students in Need program. 

Acoustic Music Jam

Nov. 4 at Faith Baptist Church, 436 Coal Creek Road, Chehalis; 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The Washington Old Time Fiddlers Association (WOTFA) will host an acoustic music jam on Friday, Nov. 4. The event is free and open to the public, membership in the WOTFA is not required to attend. Musicians of all ages and abilities are encouraged to attend. For more information, call 360-791-5185.

William Federer Speaking Event

Nov. 4, 5 and 6 at Mt. View Baptist Church, 1201 Belmont Ave., Centralia

William Federer will speak at 6 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 4; 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 5; and 8:30 and 11 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 6. Federer is a nationally known speaker and best-selling author. He is known for his Faith in History television program. 

Holiday Bazaar

Nov. 5 at St. Joseph School, 123 SW 6th St., Chehalis; 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The St. Joseph Parish Women’s Association is hosting its annual holiday bazaar. There will be homemade arts and crafts, a bake sale and gift baskets of various prices for both fall and Christmas. 

Steam Team Tree Planting Event



Nov. 5 at 1452 State Route 508, Onalaska; 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Stream Team will plant native trees along the Newaukum River to benefit water quality and salmon. Shovels, gloves and snacks will be provided. For more information, email Kenna Fosnacht at Kenna.Fosnacht@lewiscdwa.com. 

Centralia College Foundation Gala

Nov. 5 at Centralia College TransAlta Commons, 600 Centralia College Blvd, Centralia; 5 p.m.

The gala will be both in-person and virtual. In person tickets include access to all the benefits of the virtual gala. The gala will be in the Bowman Rotary Banquet Room at the Centralia College TransAlta Commons. The social hour begins at 5 p.m. and the dinner and program begin at 6 p.m. This is a cocktail attire event and is only open to those ages 21 and over. Individual in-person tickets are $75 each. Tickets for tables of four are $750 or $1,000. Tables of eight are $1,500. 

Annual Adna High School Veteran’s Day Assembly

Nov. 8 at Adna High School, 121 Adna School Road, Adna; 8:45 a.m.

Jonathan Lu will be the guest speaker at the assembly. Lu is a first-generation immigrant who enlisted in the U.S. Army as a combat medic and became a Green Beret. 

Greater Chehalis Food Bank Annual Meeting

Nov. 8 at the Food Bank, 750 SW 21st St., Chehalis; 9:30 a.m.

The public is invited to attend the annual food bank meeting.

Free Lacrosse  Clinic

Nov. 9 at NW Sports Hub, 701 Allen Ave., Centralia; 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Free lacrosse clinic for children in first through eight grade. The clinic is hosted by Twin Cities Lacrosse, currently in its third year serving the community.  

Adna Grange Veterans Day

Nov. 11 at the Adna Grange, 123 Dieckman Road, Adna; 4 to 6 p.m.

The Adna Grange will honor veterans on Veterans Day. At 4 p.m. there will be a pie and ice cream social, a dessert auction and a concert featuring Danny Vernon and his “Illusion of Elvis.” The entry cost is $20 per person. Attending veterans will be entered into a raffle drawing. 

Corn Hole Tournament Fundraiser

Nov. 12 at Dick’s Brewing, 3516 Galvin Road, Centralia; 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Twin Cities Sertoma and Reliable Enterprises is hosting a corn hole tournament for the In-Tot Development Center to support hearing and speech screenings for toddlers. Registration opens at 11:30 a.m. and the event lasts from 12 to 3 p.m.There will be beer and food, prizes, a raffle, and four round robin games. The cost is $25 per person. The event is only for those ages 21 and over. 

Veterans Thanksgiving Meal

Nov. 12 at the Veterans Memorial Museum, 100 SW Veterans Way, Chehalis; 12 to 2 p.m.

The meal is free and will be hosted by the Centralia Bible Baptist Church. Attendees are encouraged to register ahead of time at http://www.centraliabbc.org/ so enough food can be prepared.
