Seattle-to-Portland Bike Ride

July 15-16, all day

Bikers will come through Lewis County throughout the days on July 15 and 16. Events for travelers will be ongoing at Recreation Park in Chehalis, this year’s official mid-way stop, sponsored by the Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce. West Lewis County Tansy Ragwort Disposals

July 15, West Lewis County, 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at locations listed below

Tansy must be brought in tied-closed garbage bags to the following locations. Loose tansy will not be accepted. Lewis County Noxious Weed control will strictly adhere to the following schedule:

Pe Ell School, 519 N. Second St., Pe Ell from 9 to 10:30 a.m.; the Toledo Ball Fields at 5545 Jackson Highway from noon to 1:30 p.m.; and in Centralia at the Centralia Christian School, 1315 S. Tower Ave. from 2 to 3:30 p.m.

Tenino Farmers Market 

July 15 in the 200 block of Sussex Ave. in downtown Tenino; 10 a.m. 3 p.m.

The Tenino Farmers Market is open each Saturday through the end of September. 

 

Napavine Funtime Festival Parade

July 15 in Napavine; parade line-up at 9:30 a.m., parade at 11 a.m.

The 50th annual Napavine Funtime Festival will host its parade Saturday morning in downtown Napavine. 

 

Lewis County Fire District 5 Levy Discussion Open House

July 15 at the Fire District 5 administration building, 115 E. Washington St. in Napavine; 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Residents of the fire district are invited to come ask questions to learn about the levy on the upcoming Aug. 1 primary election ballot. 

 

Vietnam Veterans Remembrance Dinner

July 16 at the Veterans Memorial Museum, 100 SW Veterans Way in Chehalis; 2 p.m.

Join veterans and museum staff for a remembrance dinner held in honor of Vietnam War veterans. Tickets are $25 and include both a catered meal from The Crowded Kitchen Catering Co. and the opportunity to hear retired USMC Captain Bill Collier share stories from his time in the service. Tickets can be purchased at the Veterans Memorial Museum’s front desk. 

 

Chehalis Seventh-Day Adventist Church Vacation Bible School

July 17-22 at the Chehalis Seventh-Day Adventist church, 120 Chilvers Rd. in Chehalis; 5:30 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday

Church goers are invited to bring their children to the Chehalis Seventh-Day Adventist Church’s vacation Bible school for games, stories, songs, skits and arts and crafts. The theme will be “Secrets of the Kingdom” and dinners will be included after each evening service, as will lunch on Saturday. For more information, contact Jennifer at 360-880-8581.

City of Tenino Renewable Energy Community Meeting

July 20 at Tenino City Hall, 149 Hogdgen St. S. in Tenino; 6 to 8 p.m.

Tenino residents are invited to a community meeting with city staff and the Washington Department of Commerce’s Energy Resilience and Mitigation Program team to discuss if the city should apply for federal funding to pay for renewable energy projects in Tenino. 

 

Tenino Young-At-Heart Theatre Presents “The Hunchback of Notre Dame”

July 20-23, 26-30 at Tenino High School 500 West Second St., in Tenino. Shows 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday. 

Tenino Young-At-Heart Theatre will present its summer musical, “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” at Tenino High School beginning Thursday, July 20. 

The show runs for two weekends with performances at 7 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays July 20-22 and July 26-29 and 2 p.m. matinees on Sundays July 23 and July 30. 

General admission is $15 for adults and $13 for students and seniors. The Thursday, July 27 performance is pay-what-you-can. Tickets can be purchased at the door or online at https://teninoyoungathearttheatre.org/tickets/. 

 

56th Annual Oregon Trail Days Celebration

July 21-23 at Tenino City Park and in downtown Tenino; 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily

The Tenino Area Chamber of Commerce presents the 56th annual Oregon Trail Days celebration, featuring three days of 35 hands-on activities including stone carving, cider making, and candle making at the pioneer village, live music and entertainment, a parade, vendors, food and many more family activities. Kraken Board Shop’s Best Trick Competition

July 22 at Fuller’s Twin City Skatepark in Rotary Riverside Park, 313 Lowe St. in Centralia; 11 a.m.

Lewis County skateboarders are invited to test their skills at Kraken Board Shop’s best trick competition. Registration is open until the day of the competition and judges will watch three skill level groups compete for prizes. To sign up, visit Kraken Board Shop at Riverside park. Those under 18 will need a parent or guardian present to sign them up. 

 

Hub City Cruisers Car Show

July 22 at Schaefer County Park, 822 Downing Rd. in Centralia; 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Gearheads and grease monkeys are invited to join the Hub City Cruisers car club for their annual car show. While previously held at Fairway Lanes in Centralia, the show has now been moved to Schaefer County Park. Prizes will be raffled off and food trucks and vendors will be on hand as well.
