Community members are working on a benefit event for Onalaska residents Wes and Tina Parnell, who were impacted by a house fire on July 21, losing their belongings, home, and their beloved dog.

Tina Parnell also suffered second- and third-degree burns and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center after the fire, the cause of which was not immediately known.

Friends are hosting a spaghetti feed fundraiser with a silent auction on Sept. 13 at The All In in Onalaska from 4 to 8 p.m. and are seeking donations for the raffle and silent auction. All proceeds will go directly to the couple.

Organizers are looking for desirable items such as chords of wood, antique furniture, salon services, gravel, landscape services, baskets of treats, pet grooming, car detailing, canned items, and more.

Community members looking to donate items or services for the raffle and silent auction can drop them off at the Brown Shack Tavern at 155 Salkum Road in Salkum or Market Street Pub and Grill at 523 N. Market Blvd. in Chehalis.

Interested donors can also call Rachel Suitter at 360-827-2606 or Heather Brenner at 951-429-2829 to coordinate pickup. Cash donations are also accepted and can be made at the Market Street Pub or via GoFundMe at https://tinyurl.com/yc4ezcek.

According to the GoFundMe note, Wes Parnell escaped with minor burns on his hands from having to unlock and open doors. The couple lost their Jeep, a work truck, a shop next to the house, as well as a childhood home for Wes Parnell. As of Wednesday, the GoFundMe has raised about $6,300 of the $7,500 goal.
