With the weather getting warmer, gearheads throughout Lewis County have started taking their project cars and hot rods out on the roads again.

On Father’s Day this Sunday, June 15, Cooks Hill Community Church in Centralia will host a Father’s Day Car Show from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

On site registration is free and begins at 8:15 a.m. at Cooks Hill Community Church, located at 2400 Cooks Hill Road.

Free coffee and donuts will be available for car owners. Those arriving early are asked to go through the church’s entrance on Scammon Creek Road.

Online registration is also currently available on the church’s website. Awards will be given out in three categories with prizes for the top three in each category. There will also be participants and kids choice awards.

The car show is free to attend, though donations of diapers are welcomed.

Additionally, burgers and other food will be available for attendees to buy lunch, and Lewis County Axe Throwing will be present with its axe throwing trailer.

It will also set up its inflatable kids axe throwing event. Axe throwing will be free from 11 a.m. to noon, and the activity will be available for pay per throw both prior and after that time.

Cooks Hill Community Church will also hold its usual 10 a.m. service.
