The Lewis County Coroner’s Office has identified a woman who was struck and killed by a train on Monday morning in Centralia.

Stephanie A. Marlowe, 38, of Centralia, died due to multiple blunt force trauma, and her manner of death has been ruled accidental, according to the coroner’s office.

The southbound Amtrak passenger train left the Centralia Union Depot at 210 N. Railroad Road in downtown Centralia just before 9 a.m. on Monday, July 29, and came to a stop near the viaduct after striking Marlowe.

Trains were stopped for about two hours as law enforcement personnel processed the scene.

A Centralia Police Department officer advised residents and visitors Monday to obey all posted no-trespassing signs along the railroad tracks.
