Cougar Squares club offering a free lesson in Napavine

Posted

The Cougar Squares square dance club, which has been dancing in the Toledo area since 1961, is offering a free first lesson at an upcoming event.

The free event is scheduled for 7 to 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11, at Napavine Elementary School cafeteria and multipurpose room. The group meets at the same time and location each Monday.

No previous dance experience needed. After the first lesson, the club asks for a small donation from attendees.

“No partner needed; we have club members that will partner with you to help you learn,” organizers wrote in a news release. “Please come and check us out. Today’s square dance is a ton of fun! We dance to all types of music and our members come from all walks of life, truck drivers, doctors, nurses, teachers, pipefitters, carpenters, housewives, every type of occupation. And all ages are welcome. And no need to dress up. At lessons, we wear casual, everyday clothes.”
