The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office received a $4,500 donation from Country Financial on Thursday to purchase advanced medical kits for patrol vehicles.

The donation was part of Country Financial’s Operation Helping Heroes program, according to the sheriff’s office. The local agents coordinating this effort were Paul Ely, Laurie Gunsolley and Eric Sherwood.

The donation was the result of a proposal by Deputy Blake Teitzel to obtain these additional needed supplies for the rural community where law enforcement may often arrive at a scene prior to medical aid services, according to the sheriff’s office.

“Operation Helping Heroes is a great program to assist agencies with additional equipment,” said Sheriff Rob Snaza. “Our deputy identified an area of need, and they were quick to assist us in obtaining this equipment. I am very thankful for this partnership.”
