A Vancouver-based Democrat who is a candidate for Washington’s Third Congressional District seat will host his first event in Centralia this weekend for a small group.

Brent Hennrich and his campaign announced earlier this month that they would pay a visit to Centralia this weekend by holding a question-and-answer session at The Station in downtown Centralia.

The event is expected to be small in scale and will accommodate attendees on a first-come, first-served basis based on the capacity of the venue.

According Hennrich’s campaign, the event will run from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, giving residents a chance to ask the candidate questions face to face. The event is Hennrich’s first campaign event in the northern part of Lewis County and in the home territory of major Republican challenger John Braun.

Hennrich is looking to challenge and eventually unseat incumbent and fellow Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Perez, D-Skamania. Hennrich has so far run on a platform more in line with Democratic Party values and has criticized the congresswoman for often breaking with her party and maintaining her middle-of-the-road stance on many issues.
