Fueled by plenty of top-three finishes and wins from their stars, the Timberwolves tallied 132 points to finish five behind Cle Elum/Roslyn at Friday’s Naches Valley Invite held at Naches Valley High School.

MWP had at least one top-three placement in 11 of the 17 events. Hunter Brackett was the lone double winner as he claimed the 1,600 and 3,200-meter runs in cruising fashion. Noah Gilstrap triumphed in the 800 while Clark Henderson darted to a victory in the 110 hurdles. Tony Belgiorno leaped over 20 feet to win the long jump.

Henderson was the runner-up in the 300 hurdles while Noah Troy (triple jump) and Matthew Parvin (100) finished second. Those three plus Belgiorno teamed to cross the finish line in second in the 400 relay.

On the girls side, MWP didn’t have a winner, but Madyson Bryant pieced together the best day. The sprinter was second in the open 200 and 400 plus anchored the 400 and 800 relays to runner-up placements.

Amy Martinez, also a part of the two relays, nabbed top-five finishes in the 100 and 200. Karah Fairhart claimed fourth place in the shot put, discus and javelin for the Timberwolves while Samantha Lougee was third in the javelin.
