Arbor Health Randle Clinic and Dr. Travis Podbilski were recently honored with a Teaching Impact Award from the Washington State University Elson S. Floyd College of Medicine.
The honor was announced during the Community Connections Showcase, recognizing their outstanding commitment to medical student education and mentorship.
The award was inspired by nominations and feedback from medical students who highlighted the supportive, engaging and hands-on learning environment Podbilski creates for future physicians, according to a news release from Arbor Health.
“Dr. Podbilski encouraged me to have a deeper understanding of the pathophysiology and gave insightful tips on practice management,” Razan Ali, a student of the program, shared. “He tailored his teaching approach to my particular interests, allowing me to get hands-on with procedures. The clinic staff were all very friendly and encouraged student involvement.”
Additional student evaluations described Podbilski as “one of the kindest, most welcoming preceptors,” praising his ability to foster critical thinking, provide actionable feedback and create a learning environment that is both challenging and supportive.
As part of the recognition, a donation was made in the clinic’s name to the WSU College of Medicine Scholarship Fund.
