Three goals in a five-minute span early in the first half set the stage for Adna in Toutle Lake on Wednesday, where the Pirates rolled to a 6-1 victory.
Adna coach Patrick Richardson said that the Ducks were packing the box defensively right out of the gate, but when Haley Roundtree opened the scoring in the eighth minute, that forced the Toutle Lake defense to spread out a bit.
Rhylee Beebe took advantage of that space, scoring a goal just two minutes later, and Roundtree added her second of the night another two minutes later to make it 3-0 in just the 12th minute of the game.
Beebe would go on to add a second of her own before the break, and Sophie Hagseth and Ava Humphrey both found the back of the net in the second half.
Bailey Naillon tallied two assists, and Marlowe Fuller and Humphrey also added assists.
Richardson and his staff were able to work in bench players throughout the game, including some “fresh faces” in the second half.
“It was nice to get those quality minutes for our reserves,” Richardson said.
Adna (5-8-2, 5-2 C2BL) will host Lopez Island in a non-league game on Saturday before heading to Forks on Monday.
