The Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Exodus Electric in celebration of its new location in Chehalis at noon Thursday, May 1.
The ceremony will be held at Exodus Electric, 1976 S. Market Blvd., Chehalis.
Exodus Electric first opened in 2022 after owner Jeff Olson decided to leave his job as an electrician and start his own electrical business after getting his administrator’s license.
“It’s a requirement that all electrical shops have an electrical administrator, and so I thought maybe I should make use of my license,” Olson said.
Exodus Electric first opened doing emergency electrical work in the evenings and on weekdays, but the business quickly grew into a full-time job for Olson, who now has multiple electricians who work under him.
Exodus Electric is a family business, with Olson’s wife and mother helping answer phones. Olson’s youngest son also plans to join the family business. He’s working at Exodus Electric this summer as an electrician.
Olson has more than 20 years of experience as an electrician and strives to provide affordable electrical work to his community, according to a news release from the chamber. Olson often says that he is serving the communities’ electrical needs one house at a time and opened his business not only to take care of his community, but to also provide good benefits and a good work environment for his employees.
Olson is excited for the ribbon-cutting ceremony and for people to see Exodus Electric’s new space.
“We’re hoping to get our name out there and see if we can encourage people to stop by. We really like it when people stop by and see us,” Olson said.
Exodus Electric will continue to expand its reach, doing residential and some commercial electrical projects, as well as expanding the business to selling electrical parts at their storefront for do it yourself projects, according to the chamber.
The Centralia-Chehalis Chamber of Commerce hosts ribbon-cutting ceremonies for local businesses that are expanding, rebranding or celebrating significant milestones. The ceremonies are available for both members and non-members of the chamber.
