Experience Chehalis ‘Letters to Santa’ program returns for Christmas season

Several of Santa’s mailboxes are now in Chehalis as the Experience Chehalis organization is running its third annual “Letters to Santa” program.

The program features mailboxes, located at three locations in Chehalis, in which children can drop off letters to Santa, according to an Experience Chehalis news release.

If the children are lucky — and follow the instructions listed here — they will receive an answer from Santa hand-delivered by his “elves” volunteering for Experience Chehalis. But they must drop off their letters by Dec. 15.

To receive an answer, the return address on the letter must be legible and the child’s name must be clearly printed, or the answer will simply be addressed to “my friend.”

The original letter to Santa will not be returned and all contact information is kept confidential.

“The volunteer elves try to ensure timely responses from Santa, but return times may vary …  Please keep in mind that Santa does not address a child’s gift request,” the release stated.

Santa’s mailboxes are inside Book ‘n’ Brush, located at 518 N. Market Blvd., Totally Pawsome, 463 N. Market Blvd., and Market Street Ace Hardware, located at 771 S. Market Blvd.

“We thank Book ‘N’ Brush for purchasing these beautiful mailboxes,” the release added.

Experience Chehalis is the city’s Main Street organization dedicated to supporting small businesses by cultivating relationships and celebrating the community.
