Experience Chehalis Looking For Volunteers for Upcoming Spring Cleaning Event

Posted

As spring is quickly rolling into summer, Experience Chehalis is still looking for volunteers to work at one of four trash dropoff locations on May 20 and 21 for the City of Chehalis Spring Clean-up Days event.

Each of the four locations will have a LeMay dumpster that city residents can use to dispose of trash from their homes and properties and will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days.

The four dumpsters will be located in the Chehalis Eagles parking lot at 1993 S. Market Blvd., at Stan Hedwall Park on 1501 Rice Road, the former Cascade Elementary School parking lot at 89 SW Third St. and the Chehalis Fire Station in the 1300 block of Northwest State Avenue.

Prohibited items include appliances, tires, paints, batteries and chemicals. The dumpsters are available to Chehalis residents only. Once a dumpster is full, the site will close for the weekend.

“Yes folks, this is a glamorous gig!” Experience Chehalis Executive Director Annalee Tobey said in a news release.

Shifts available for volunteers are 8:30 a.m. to noon, noon to 3 p.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday. Volunteers will be responsible for ensuring prohibited items are not dumped and will have literature available to inform people where they can take those items.

“We would really appreciate a few hours of your time if you are available!” Tobey said.

Volunteers are welcome to take more than one shift and those interested can email Tobey at annalee@experiencechehalis.com.
