Cooper Fallon had a night to remember on Wednesday against Toledo, as the senior scored 25 points and grabbed 20 rebounds to lead the Riverhawks to a 72-56 victory over Onalaska.
“It’s just his second or third 20-20,” Toledo coach Grady Fallon said. “Sometimes you take it for granted.”
Adam Kruger also had an excellent game, scoring a career-high 21 points and adding seven rebounds of his own.
Despite dominant performances from Cooper Fallon and Kruger, the Loggers hung around. They only scored six points in the first quarter, but took advantage of a flurry of Toledo turnovers to stay within striking distance.
“They are good enough to make some shots, go on a little runs,” Grady Fallon said. “Nine turnovers in the first half was way too many. We’ve got to be smart.”
The Riverhawks were finally able to pull away in the final frame, officially getting back in the win column after suffering their first league loss of the year in their last matchup.
“We didn't feel great, didn’t feel bad,” Grady Fallon said. “That was the hope. We did some soul searching and we did improve on some little goals, some philosophy stuff we need to be better at.”
Trevin Gale finished with 13 points and six rebounds, while Eli Weeks added six points and five assists.
Noland Brady led the Loggers with 13 points, and Haze Hamrick, Austin Sturza, and Maddox McKinley added eight each.
Both teams will be back in action on Friday, when Onalaska (8-8, 7-6 C2BL) will return home to host Adna on Friday and Toledo (9-2, 8-1 C2BL) will head to Mossyrock.
