Fifth Green Hill inmate charged for allegedly attacking two other residents, staff member

A fifth Green Hill School inmate accused of attacking two other inmates and a staff member at the facility this summer had a preliminary hearing in Lewis County Superior Court on Wednesday. 

The Lewis County Prosecutor’s Office filed a felony prison riot charge against Gilberto Sanchez Medina, 18, on Sept. 22, according to court documents. Three of his four co-defendants — Samuel K. Conley, 18; Jose Beltran Rodriguez, 18; and Mikah Davin Johnson, 18 — were charged Aug. 23. The fourth co-defendant, Anthony Ismael Sanchez, 18, was charged Sept. 5. 

Conley and Rodriguez have each entered not guilty pleas to their respective charges and are scheduled to go to trial on Nov. 27. 

Johnson and Sanchez have preliminary hearings scheduled for Nov. 3 and Oct. 17, respectively. Sanchez Medina’s arraignment hearing is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 26.
