Firefighters douse apartment fire in Centralia

The Riverside Fire Authority responded to a fire at the Mt. Vista Apartments on Mt. Vista Road at about noon on Saturday. A fire official told The Chronicle there were no injuries. The fire began in an apartment on the second floor. No one was home. Residents were evacuated from the building. Firefighters checked nearby apartment units for damage. A resident later reported that two units were damaged in the blaze.
