For those who can’t wait until next month to get their garlic fix in at the Washington State Garlic Fest at the Southwest Washington Fairgrounds, Jim Smith of Uncle Jim’s Smokehouse and Uncle Jim’s Oyster and Steamer Clam Bar is holding the inaugural Adna Garlic Festival this upcoming weekend from July 25 through July 27.
Featuring garlic from local growers, both Uncle Jim’s Smokehouse along with the Oyster and Steamer Clam Bar will be located in the field across the street from Adna Grocery, located at 109 Bunker Creek Road.
“Bring the whole family and friends,” Smith said in a Facebook post. “... Food vendors are required to have at least one garlic food item.”
Gates will be open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and admission is by donation.
Additionally, on Friday, Pat Murphy and The Straitshot Band will be performing live music from 6 to 10 p.m. Then, on Saturday, D and the Big Dogs will perform along with Adna Boy and Ty Bodenhammer.
“The Waterin Hole with Jen and Patrick will be serving your favorite beverages,” Smith added.
With this being the inaugural festival, Smith told The Chronicle he and his wife, Cindy, are just hoping to be able to cover the expenses of organizing it, with any extra proceeds being set aside toward the second annual Adna Garlic Festival in 2026.
