Putting up 38 points in the first two quarters was enough to fend away upset-minded Aberdeen, allowing Tumwater to pick up a vital 62-50 verdict on Thursday night in Evergreen Conference action.
Eleven different players notched at least a point for the Thunderbirds (9-3, 3-1 EvCo). Jake Dillon buried six 3-pointers to pace their group with 20 points. Luke Overbay added 10 while a trifecta of players finished with six.
Aberdeen started its rally by putting up 35 points in the second half, but the hole was too big to overcome. Tumwater returns to the court on Monday for a non-league tilt on the road versus Battle Ground.
