Former Seahawk Red Bryant makes Centralia stop for autograph session

Red Bryant, a key cog on the defensive line for the Seattle Seahawks during his six-year career in the Pacific Northwest, returned to Washington for an autograph session at Keiper’s Cards and Memorabilia in Centralia on Saturday.

Dozens of Seahawk fans stopped by to have Bryant sign cards and take photos. The session lasted roughly an hour.

“It is the best feeling,” said Bryant, who was originally going to do this in May, but had a family emergency arise. “This is a great place. It feels good to come back and so many people still appreciate you and still root for you.”

He was thrusted into a starting role for Seattle in 2011 and only missed one game in four years. He was a part of its 2013 Super Bowl championship that obliterated the Denver Broncos 43-8.

Also being live streamed, Bryant reminisced about his playing days and showed off his Super Bowl XLVIII ring.

“I try to come back as often as I can,” Bryant said.

Nowadays, Bryant lives in Texas with his wife and four kids spanning from seventh grade to second grade. He has two businesses, a trucking company and at his alma mater Texas A&M, 16 units of student housing.

Still, he doesn’t forget about the place that drafted him in the fourth round in 2008.

And as for the 2024 Seahawks, Bryant wouldn’t be overly stunned if they surprise some people.

“I’m a big Geno (Smith) fan. On defense, I love the secondary,” he said. “I’m excited about it, I really am.”
