Four Green Hill School inmates are being charged as adults in Lewis County Superior Court for allegedly beating up another inmate at the facility in April 2023.

The defendants — identified as Adnel Kenjar, 22, Jose L. Cisneros, 18, Antonio Inda, 21, and Joseph A. Odden, 19 — are each facing one count of participating in a prison riot, which is a class B felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison.

The “major disturbance at the facility” reportedly broke out on April 26 while evening medications were being dispensed, according to court documents. Kenjar was reportedly told he had a telephone call, had “a short exchange with another resident” and then allegedly “began throwing punches at another resident,” according to court documents.

“Although a command was given to clear the floor, inmates identified as Inda, Odden, Cisnos and two other individuals who have not been charged allegedly “began attacking the resident being punched by Kenjar,” according to court documents.

“All of the attackers have been identified as gang members,” prosecutors stated in an affidavit of probable cause filed in Lewis County Superior Court.

Charges against Kenjar, Cisneros, Inda and Odden were filed in Lewis County Superior Court on June 22, according to court records.

All four defendants had preliminary hearings in Lewis County Superior Court on Tuesday, where Judge James Lawler granted Deputy Prosecutor Brad Meagher’s request for $20,000 bail each.

“I just don’t want a premature release date so we (don’t) lose track of them,” Meagher said as his reason for asking for bail while the defendants were in custody on other unrelated matters at Green Hill.

Arraignment hearings are scheduled for Thursday, July 13.
