Free ‘Music on the Hill’ Coming Saturday to Seminary Hill Natural Area

Posted

Enjoy a free concert among the trees as the Friends of the Seminary Hill Natural Area host a “Music on the Hill” event this Saturday at 10 a.m. in Centralia’s hillside forest.

Musical guests will be scattered along the trails of Seminary Hill for visitors to stroll and enjoy.

The musicians will include:

• Jean Stewart playing her harp,

• The Olympia Irish Session Group, with musicians playing fiddle, hammered dulcimer, whistle, small bagpipe and guitar,

• Brian Mittge leading a group sing-along and song circle/acoustic music jam. All are invited to bring their instruments (guitar, mandolin, banjo, etc.) to play along. Mittge will also offer beginner ukulele instruction. Even if you’re a complete notice, bring your ukulele and join the jam.

All are invited to this family-friendly event. Free cookies and coffee will be provided by the volunteers in the Friends group.

“This is always a popular and fun event,” said Mittge, who also serves as president of the Friends of the Seminary Hill Natural Area. “Come enjoy the music and sing along!”
