Free Wildflower Walk Offered Wednesday at Seminary Hill Natural Area

Posted

Take a walk in the woods and stop to smell the flowers during the popular annual Wildflower Walk at the Seminary Hill Natural Area at 6 p.m. this Wednesday, May 4.

Lisa Carlson, botany professor at Centralia College, will guide this free nature walk, which is sponsored by the Friends of the Seminary Hill Natural Area.

Carlson will teach attendees to identify native wildflowers and enjoy the beauty of spring in this century-old native forest just blocks from downtown Centralia.

The walk begins at 6 p.m., rain or shine. Meet at the Barner Drive entrance to the natural area at the eastern end of Locust Street.

Also mark your calendar for a nature photography event at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 4, with Marlene Hodge.
