After starring at Raymond for two years and helping lead helping to lead the Adna volleyball team to a league title this past fall, Karsyn Freeman made her own introductions to the Pirate girls basketball program in a big way Tuesday, accounting for more than half of Adna’s points in a 57-51 win over 1A Seton Catholic in Vancouver.

“She’s going to be alright,” Adna coach Chris Bannish said with a laugh.

Freeman opened her Adna account with a 30-point performance, with 21 of those points coming in a red-hot first half, and also added seven rebounds and five steals.

Danika Hallom added 14 points, Gaby Guard had nine and Bailey Chapman pitched in the final four, on a night where only four Pirates cracked the scoresheet.

Kendall Humphrey led the Pirates (1-0) with eight boards.

Adna will get another test against a 1A TriCo opponent Friday when it hosts King’s Way Christian.
