Gladys V. Roses, our beloved mother, grandmother and friend passed away May 23, 2012. Gladys was born in Seattle to Hazel (Judd) and Park Goodman on Jan. 22, 1919.

She is survived by daughter, Shirley Burris of Bellevue and son, Jim Roses (Laurel) of Chehalis, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson and dear friend Ann Loven.

She was preceded in death by son, Alan Roses of Fairbanks, Alaska and husband, Louis Roses.

Gladys' life was very active and she loved every moment. Her kindness and compassion to others endeared her to many people during her lifetime.  She retired in 1975 from Boeing with 21 years of service.               Gladys was a member of many organizations, including the Town & Country Bowling League, West Seattle chapter of Eastern Star and the Ladies Oriental Shrine. Many weekends were camping trips, family dinners at the farm and she always lent a helping hand when needed. She moved from Everett to Chehalis in 2008.

We wish to extend our sincere appreciation to all of the staff at Chehalis West. Gladys lived there for four years and loved and befriended everyone. Special wishes of thanks to Goldie, Stacy, Cynthia, Rhonda and to Providence Hospice for their kindness and help during Gladys' last days.

A celebration of life and luncheon will be held Sept. 15, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. at the American Legion Post 17, 111 ½ Main St. Centralia, Wash.
