Gubernatorial Candidate Dave Reichert to headline event in Adna

Republican gubernatorial candidate Dave Reichert will appear at a campaign event next month hosted by Adna Grocery owner Jim Smith and community organizer Anthony Mixer.

Reichert will headline an event on June 15 at Sandrini Construction, located at 100 Robin Road in Adna. The event will begin at 1 p.m.

Dave Larson, who is vying for a seat on the state supreme court, will also be in attendance. Lewis County Sheriff Rob Snaza, who is not up for reelection this November but has endorsed Reichert’s campaign, will be a featured speaker at the event.

The visit by Reichert is the second in recent months, after a fundraiser at Jester Auto Museum and Events Center in March. The former sheriff of King County, Reichert represented Washington’s Eighth Congressional District in Congress from 2005 to 2019.

Polling released last week by Cascade PBS shows that Reichert is currently running neck and neck with Attorney General Bob Ferguson, the Democratic frontrunner. The poll found 22% of respondents supported Ferguson, compared to 20% who supported Reichert. In the poll,  47% of registered voters were undecided about the race for governor.

While the Washington State Republican Party formally endorsed Misipati “Semi” Bird for governor during the party’s convention in Spokane last month, a top-two primary will be held on Aug. 6 to decide which two candidates advance to the general election.

The general election will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 5.
