Harrison Avenue construction set for next week to repair manholes

Posted

A contractor working for the City of Centralia Public Works Department will be working on Harrison Avenue between Johnson Road, Galvin Road and Reynolds Avenue during the week of Aug. 25 through 29.

The contractor will be completing utility manhole repairs on this high-use corridor. Existing pavement around manhole lids has failed and needs to be repaired, according to a city public works news release. The contractor will try to finish all the work before school starts to minimize impacts to the public.

Harrison Avenue will remain open at all times. However, the travel lanes will be shifted away from the work locations during working hours from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The public can expect delays through the Harrison Avenue corridor and is asked to drive carefully through the work area.

The city and Barcott Construction will work with area residents and businesses to minimize impacts during construction. Access to all businesses and residences will be maintained throughout construction.
