This Saturday, Sept. 16, the Historic Borst Home Museum in Centralia will be hosting an open house from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., according to museum program coordinator Bev York.
The open house will spotlight various aspects of life during World War II, starting with the work of WWII quilters.
“Quiltmakers from the U.S., U.K., Australia and other areas came together to make baby quilts for soldiers’ babies,” York said in the email.
Victory gardens, which were utilized by many nations on both sides during WWII including the U.S., will be discussed.
“‘Eat what you can, and can what you can’t’ were the watchwords,” said York.
Additionally, reenactors from Friends of Willie And Joe — a WWII historical group — will be on hand for a presentation along with WWII-era vehicles and clothing.
